Entry Visa

Eligibility: An Entry Visa is given for a specific purpose as decided by the Embassy. (short term courses and unpaid internships) or other non-business related purposes.

Entry Visa is also issued to seamen going to Inspect / Attend vessel at Indian ports.

Entry Visas is issued to Persons of Indian Origin, family members of Indian citizens and family members of foreign nationals employed in India. In the latter case, documents establishing the employment of the spouse along with a copy of his/her Employment visa must be attached.

Registration with concerned Foreigner's Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) is mandatory within 14 days of arrival in India if the intended stay is more than 180 days.

How to apply:

> e-Visa facility is not available for Entry Visa.

Apply for a regular (paper sticker) Entry Visa by filling the online application at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html and submit a printout of the application along with the following documents at the Embassy of India Athens.

Documents Required:

Printed Visa Application form, signed in blue, as per signature on passport

Original Passport with at least 2 continuous blank pages, in good condition.

Two photocopies of Passport pages with details

Two recent identical colored Biometric photographs, with 5 cm x 5cm dimensions, on white background with 70% of face zoom.

In case applicant holds 2nd Nationality’s Passport, One photocopy of its page with details

One photocopy of previous Indian Visa, if exists, with stamps of exit/entrance. One photocopy of previous passport’s page with details, in case the visa was pasted there.

Copy of flight ticket booking/reservation.

Additional Documents Required for Entry Visa to Inspect/Attend Vessel:

1. Coloured photocopy of Invitation letter (on company letter head) (click here to download sample).

2. Coloured copy of Letter of Incorporation of Indian Company.

3. Recommendation letter (to inspect/attend vessel – in original) (click here to download sample).

4. Original Confirmation Letter on Letter-head duly stamped and signed stating that contents of recommendation letter are True and Correct.

5. Please ask for the cancellation of your last visa, if still valid, in the recommendation letter.

Additional Documents Required for Entry Visa for Family Members of Indian Origin Person

1. Birth certificate in respect of children (Original + copy)

2. Marriage Certificate in respect of husband/wife – Apostille (Original + copy)

3. Letter from the Indian National (father / spouse) requesting for visa for family members and sponsoring their stay in India with photocopy of his/her passport.

Additional Documents Required for Entry Visa for Dependent/Family Members of a Foreigner who has Employment Visa:

1. Documents establishing the employment of the spouse in India along with a copy of his/her last Employment visa, FRRO Registration, PAN Card copy.

2. Letter from Company addressed to the Embassy confirming that the foreigner is still employed with the company and would like his family members to join him in India.

3. Coloured copy of Letter of Incorporation of Indian Company.

4. Birth certificate in respect of children (Original + Translation)

5. Marriage certificate in respect of husband/wife (Original + Translation)

6. Letter from the applicant addressed to Embassy requesting for a visa to join family in India.

7. Letter from the foreign national (father / spouse) requesting for visa for family members and sponsoring their stay in India with photocopy of his/her passport
