Mahakumbh Mela-2025 and Pravasi Bharatiya Convention 

Mahakumbh Mela-2025 is scheduled to be held at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh from January 13, 2025 to February 26, 2025. 

2. This event holds immense significance in Indian culture and has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity with dedicated efforts of the Hon'ble Prime Minister. 

3. Mahakumbh occurs in Prayagraj every twelve years, while the Kumbh Mela is traditionally held every six yeas.  The upcoming Mahakumbh-2025 will carry on this age-old tradition with grandeur, attracting millions of devotees, pilgrims and visitors from around the globe.  It is a unique opportunity to experience the spiritual and cultural richness of India.  

4. The centrepiece of the Mahakumbh is the holy dip ('snan') at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers.  Visitors also have the change to participate in spiritual rituals, darshan and cultural programs, making it a truly transformative experience. 

5. The first auspicious 'snan' (holy dip) is scheduled on 13th and 14th January, 2025 which will attract pilgrims in large number from across the globe and may also generate interest of the diaspora participating in the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Convention at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 8th to 10th January, 2025. In order to ensure safe and convenient visit of the Pravasi Bharatiya Delegation to Mahakumbh Mela-2025.

6. Members of the Indian Diaspora from Greece who are interested and intend to visit Mahakumb and Pravasi Bharatiya Convention at Bhubaeswar, Odisha are requested to share their details with the Embassy to convey the same to the concerned authorities in India in order to make necessary arrangements that are required to ensure safe and memorable visit of the delegation of Indian diaspora to the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and Pravasi Bharatiya Convention at Bhubaeswar, Odisha.
